Kludget Engine version 1.0 has arrived

After a little more than a year of kludging, the engine has reached the stable version release – 1.0.
It is now running on top of Qt 4.7 framework. With several internals of the engine updated, it is a lot more stable now. And the performance has greatly improved.

I’m contemplating of changing the direction of the Kludget Engine to be more of a comprehensive desktop and shell enhancement instead of just a Widget/Gadget engine. Or maybe just fork a new project out of it. But for now, enjoy v1.0.0

Manny Pacquiao crushes Miguel Cotto

LAS VEGAS (AP)—Manny Pacquiao put on yet another dominating performance Saturday night, knocking down Miguel Cotto twice and turning his face into a bloody mess before finally stopping him 55 seconds into the 12th round.

Pacquiao used his blazing speed and power from both hands to win his seventh title in seven weight classes and cement his stature as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. Cotto took such a beating that his face was a river of red from the fury of Pacquiao’s punches.

Pacquiao dropped Cotto with a right hand early in the third round, but he wasn’t badly hurt and came back to finish the round strong. But after Pacquiao put Cotto on the canvas with a big left hand as Cotto was advancing forward late in the fourth round, Cotto was never the same again.

Cotto fought gamely but in the later rounds he was just trying to survive as blood flowed down his face and Pacquiao kept coming after him relentlessly.

Style7 – Custom Window 7 Themes

Style 7 is a Windows 7 theme generator. It uses the default Microsoft Aero theme as base and generates a new theme using blackbox styles. Blackbox styles are created with a single, simple, human-readable, configuration file. Thousands are also readily available for download on the internet.

You will need UxStyle Core or UxTheme patcher to run the Unsigned Themes created by Style7.

The installer includes the classic blackbox themes. But search for more themes on Customize.org

Kludget Engine is coming to Linux

Running on Ubuntu 9.04

Kludget Engine will be available on Linux pretty soon. For those who can’t wait, download the source code from the repository. It’s almost always to up to date.

You’ll need qt 4.5, and developer tools.

Beta 0.9.20090518 Released

This release contains the plugin feature. Which would allow widgets using custom plugins to run, provided a Window port of the plugin is available.

This screenshot shows the iStatNano running.

The source code of the iStatNano plugin is also available in the SVN tree.

The requested HotKey features has also been added in this release. But it merely toggles on and off the widget visibility.
